The CLIA - Cruise Lines International Association is the world's largest trade association for the cruise industry. Founded in 1975, its main objective is to provide greater and broader benefits, as well as a globally united voice, for cruise companies, travel agents, ports, and business partners included in the same market, such as the Port of Leixões.
The "Cruise Portugal" brand brings together all Portuguese cruise ports that together promote the national cruise industry to the international sector. The ports of Leixões, Lisbon, Setúbal, Portimão, Azores, Madeira, and more recently, Figueira da Foz, participate annually in the major global events of the sector such as Seatrade Cruise Global, Seatrade Cruise Europe (Biennial), and Seatrade Cruise Med (Biennial). The goal of "Cruise Portugal" and each of its ports is to showcase, to the top decision-makers in the industry worldwide, their numerous strengths and their port and tourism offerings, thus aiming to increase their market share in Europe and worldwide.
