NORTH CRUISE TERMINAL

Located at Dock 1 North in Leça da Palmeira, this Passenger Terminal has available a 300m quay with -10m depth, for cruises up to 250m long. It has no capacity limit for passengers in transit and allows the turnaround of approximately 750 passengers.

The building is a wonderful wooden construction that resembles a ship's hull. It is one of the finest examples of the architecture of the nineteen-sixties.

Opened formally in April 1961 and created by the architects Francisco Figueiredo e Fernando Távora, this building is highly representative of the architecture of that time. It is made of wood and their large window allows passengers to enjoy the beauty of the sea as well as the port traffic. The inside was decorated with a beautiful painting made by Zita Alves, Elvira Leite, Céu Stuart and L. Sarmento, representing a sea scene.
